Users’ Guide on upgraded Online Banking Personal Services


 


Dear Valued Online Banking Customers:

In order to better our customer services, Bank of China will perform system upgrade in early October, 2009. The personal online banking service functions related to the accounts opened in BOC Hebei Branch will be also be improved after the system upgrade. Please read the following descriptions to learn about the major adjustments of online banking personal services:

Part 1  Account No. (new vs. pervious) Enquiry Function

After the system upgrade, the previous account numbers of the bank accounts(debit/credit cards not included) opened at BOC Hebei Branch will be changed to new account numbers, which will be the only valid account numbers after Oct 7th,2009.

1.Under Account Summary function of Bank Account service, if there are accounts opened in BOC Hebei Branch in the list of online banking linked accounts, a “Previous Account Enquiry” function will be added to the Hebei accounts, in order to help your learn the relations between new account numbers and previous account numbers and enquire the transactions record under the pervious account numbers.

2. You can also learn the relations between new account numbers and previous account numbers under New / previous Account Number Comparison function of Service Settings.

Part 2 Upgraded functions of Transfer service

1. Under “Intra-BOC Transfer” and “Domestic Inter-bank Remittance” functions of “Transfer” service, the payer’s account is no longer limited to debit card and the Great Wall RMB credit card. “Regular Passbook of Savings” and “Passbook of Current Savings” are newly added as available payer’s account type.

2. Under “Call Deposit” function of “Transfer” service, if your have notified the bank to withdraw certain call deposit, please enter the Notification Code. Otherwise, the withdrawal will be deemed as breach of contract and will incur interest loss.

Part 3 Upgraded functions of Foreign Exchange service

1. Under “Foreign Exchange Trade” function of “Investments” service, there are two types of immediate transactions: “Immediate Transaction at Market Price” and “Immediate Transaction at Designated Price”.

“Immediate Transaction at Market Price” means the transaction will be made at the market price right the moment the transaction is submitted. By “Immediate Transaction at Market Price” , customers doesn’t set a target price in advance, and the price provided by the online banking system is just reference price, which may be different from the actual trade price. “Immediate Transaction at Market Price” can ensure the success of the trade even under market fluctuation.

“Immediate Transaction at Designated Price” means the transaction will be made at the price designated by the customer. Usually, the trade will be successful when the bank’s buying price is equal to or higher than the customer’s designated selling price or when the bank’s selling price is equal to or lower than the customer’s designated buying price. “Immediate Transaction at Designated Price” may fail under market fluctuation.

2. When you choose “Immediate Transaction at Market Price”, the trade can be made in two ways: “Trade Directly” and “Trade by confirmation”. “Trade Directly” means the transaction is made directly at the market price without the customer’s confirmation. “Trade by confirmation” means the customer must confirm the trade information before the transaction is made.

3. When you choose “Fix-profit entrustment”, “Stop-loss entrustment”, or “Double-condition entrustment”, the page will display “Entrustment Deadline” column. You can enter a deadline for the entrustment as detail as certain hour on a certain day, and the deadline should be no more than one week away from the entrustment day.

4. You can make enquiries to the entrustments by 3 different dimensions: “Currently Effective Entrustments”, “Past Entrustments”, and “Transactions Concluded”. The  “Currently Effective Entrustments” can be cancelled.

Part 4 Upgraded functions of Gold service

1. Under “Gold Trade” function of “Investments” service, there are two types of immediate transactions: “Immediate Transaction at Market Price” and “Immediate Transaction at Designated Price”.

“Immediate Transaction at Market Price” means the transaction will be made at the market price right the moment the transaction is submitted.
